NIKON D7500
OVERVIEW
The Nikon D7500 is the latest camera in the popular 7000 range. This started with
the D7000, then upgraded to the D7100, then the D7200 so it makes perfect sense that
the next in the line would be the D7500! That said the reason for the jump in model
numbers seems to be that the D7500 shares some its features with the D500.
SENSOR
The D7500 has a 20.9 megapixel, APS-C sized sensor, the same as used in the D500.
It also shares the D500’s Expeed 5 processor.
ISO RANGE
The ISO range is ISO 100-51,400 natively which can be expanded up to ISO 1,640,000,
the same as in the D500.
SHUTTER SPEED
Maximum shutter speed is 1/8000th of a second and can shoot at up to 8 frames per
second.
AUTOFOCUS
Autofocus has remained the same as in the D7200 with 51 AF points, 15 of which are
cross type.
VIEWFINDER & TOUCHSCREEN
The D7500 uses the same viewfinder as in the D7200 but the rear screen has been updated
to the tilting touchscreen found on the D500.
CONNECTIVITY
Here is where the D7500 seems to have lost out over its predecessor with Wifi and
NFC now missing. The D7500 now only has a single SD card slot compared to the dual
slots in the D7200.
FILE TYPES
The buffer in the D7500 will now allow 100 Jpegs or 50 RAW files to be recorded,
which is way up from the D7200’s 6 RAW file buffer.
VIDEO
Video is available in 4K at 24, 25 and 30 frames per second. The 4K recording does
however only use the central area of the sensor resulting in a 2.2x crop factor.
