CANON 5D MkIV
OVERVIEW
Canon’s 5D range has been a favourite camera for both professionals and enthusiasts
for years. The 5D MkIV picks up where the 5D MkIII left off, giving improvements
in autofocus, sensor and video capabilities.
SENOR
The full frame CMOS sensor has 30.4MP compared to the 22.3 on the MkIII and has a
built in low-pass filter. The 5d MkIV has Canon’s Digic 6+ processor.
ISO RANGE
The 5D MkIV has an ISO range of ISO 100-32,000 which is expandable to ISO 50-1,02,400.
SUTTER SPEED
Maximum shutter is 1/8000th of a second with a frame rate of 7fps.
AUTOFOCUS
Using the same Dual Pixel autofocus system as the flagship 1D X MkII the 5D MkIV
has 61 AF points with 41 being cross type.
VIEWFINDER & TOUCHSCREEN
Viewfinder offers 100% coverage with a 0.71x magnification. The 3.2” touchscreen
has options for menu functions, quick controls and playback operations.
CONECTIVITY
The 5D MkIV has HDMI, USB3 as well as headphone and microphone jack sockets. Connectivity
is via Wi-Fi and NFC.
FILE TYPES
J-pegs and RAW, with RAW available as M-RAW, S-Raw and an all new Dual Pixel Raw
that shoots two separate 30MP files, using the left side and right side pixels of
the sensor that can then be combine into one file.
VIDEO
The 5D MkIV will shoot 4K video at 29.7, 25, 24 and 23.98 frames per second. 1080
video at up to 59.94 fps and 1080 HDR video at 29.97 and 25 fps.
