CANON EOS 200D/REBEL SL2
OVERVIEW
Canon has announced the release of the EOS 200D or the Rebel SL2 as it is know in
the U.S., is the update of the EOS 100D/Rebel SL1 that was launched four years ago.
The 200D is an entry level DSLR, sitting just above the 1300D model.

SENSOR
Sensor wise the 200D has a 24.2 megapixel, APS-C sensor, up from the 18 megapixel
sensor in the 100D. This has been coupled with Canon’s latest DIGIC 7 processor.
AUTOFOCUS
Autofocus offers 9 AF points along with Canon’s Dual pixel AF
Which allows the sensors pixels to act as phase detectors as well as for imaging.
ISO RANGE
ISO range has been improved giving ISOs from 100-40,000 natively.
SHUTTER SPEED
Sutter speed has a maximum of 1/4000th of a second and will now shoot at up to 5
frames per second.
CAMERA BODY
The 200D is a small, light DSLR body and is available in three colour options, standard
black, silver and tan and in white.

LCD TOUCHSCREEN
The other major addition is a fully articulating touchscreen replacing the fixed
LCD on the original camera.
VIDEO
Video wise the 200D will shoot in 1080p at up to 60 frames per second. The combination
of the light body, articulating screen and mic input could make the 200D an ideal
vlogging camera.
STORAGE & CONNECTIVITY
For storage the 200D has a single SD card slot. Connectivity is well covered with
built in GPS, WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth options. There is an input for an external
microphone but no headphone output jack.
RELEASE DATE
The 200D/Rebel SL2 is available now for pre order with a release in July 2017.
